As some of you may have noticed (or maybe not!), I have massively neglected my blog the last couple of months. Not just the writing of it but the social media side of it too. In fact, the title should really read, “Long time, no blog, tweet, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+ or Facebook post” but that was a bit of a mouthful!
I basically completely fell off the blogging wagon back in November. The primary reason was really the day job getting in the way. And the longer I left it, the harder it was to get jump back onto it. I even had nearly two whole weeks off at Christmas but somehow that passed by without me managing to get even a quarter of the things crossed off my very long list of “things I would do when I had some time off at Christmas”, including write a blog post (or three!)
The problem with getting out of the flow of blogging though is that it feels like I should make my first blog post or social media post something momentous. But that just meant it was taking me even longer to get back into it as I couldn’t think of anything worthy of such an accolade. Then today I decided to just go for it. I posted a random tweet about enjoying a nice roast dinner and family afternoon walk, a picture of some snowdrops on Instagram (not the one used in this post though – it wasn’t that good!) and started writing this post.
So it may not be the most exciting, informative or thought-provoking blog I’ve ever writting and I’m sorry about that. But without it all my hard work so far on this blog was going to go to waste unless I resurrected it.
I’m not sure what triggered me to jump back on, maybe the feeling that Spring is in the air and the thought of new beginnings that comes with that. I think I also realised that I do miss writing my blog. So although my day job is still really busy and I never seem to have enough hours in the day, I really am going to try hard to make the time to do it.
So hopefully this post will be the first of many more this year and who knows, some of them may even be a bit more interesting than this one!
