Who we are
www.familytimetravel.co.uk (“Family Time Travel”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Centraserve Ltd, a company registered in England, which is the data controller for personal data processed through this site. The quickest way to reach us about anything in this policy is the contact form.
What we collect and why
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server records basic details of each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser's user-agent string. We use these logs to keep the site running, diagnose faults and detect abuse. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (operating and securing the site). Logs are kept for up to 30 days and then deleted.
The contact form
If you use the contact form we receive the name, email address and message you enter, plus the IP address the message came from. We use this only to read and reply to your message (lawful basis: legitimate interests in answering enquiries). Messages are kept for up to 12 months, unless an ongoing matter means we need them longer, and then deleted. The form may be protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a person rather than a bot is sending it.
What we don't do
We do not run analytics or advertising trackers, we do not build profiles of visitors, and we never sell personal data.
Cookies
This site does not set its own tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookies involved are:
| Set by | Purpose | When |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Security and bot protection (strictly necessary) | May be set on any page |
| Google reCAPTCHA | Spam protection for the contact form | Contact page only |
| Amazon | Recording that you arrived from our link | Only after you click through to amazon.co.uk |
Strictly necessary cookies do not need consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Amazon affiliate links
Family Time Travel is a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk. When you click a “Shop this on Amazon” or similar link you leave this site for amazon.co.uk. Amazon may then use cookies to record that the visit came from us, so that we can earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. We do not receive your name, address or payment details. Amazon's own privacy notice applies on its site.
Who we share data with
We share personal data only with the service providers that make the site work, under contracts that require them to protect it: our hosting provider (UK/EU data centres), Cloudflare (content delivery and security) and, for the contact form, Google (reCAPTCHA). Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to:
- be told what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have data erased where there is no good reason for us to keep it;
- restrict or object to our use of your data, including use based on legitimate interests;
- receive data you gave us in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, send a request through the contact form. We will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your data you can complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Children
This site is written for parents and other adults. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and the date at the top.
